A man does not protect his woman because she is weak. He protects her because she is important.

Backstory

Masamune grew up among the Teki tribe. He spent his childhood with them in the desert training to become one of their warriors. When the day came for him to come of age, he'd completed several trials, tamed a yol, and helped his tribe fight off another. Then Garlemald attacked. The sounds of battle quickly filled the steppe.Steel met steel as several tribes rushed to fight Garlemald. Masamune was instructed by his Khan to go to Bozja, and train.A year has passed since that day, he returns to the steppe, with a vierra who had found and healed him during his escape the year before. He dismounts and helps the vierra off his yol, to be greeted by the Khan. "Masamune, my boy. You've returned!"Several more months have passed, Masamune has now defeated his father in close combat for the role of Khan. With the Mol's blessing, his tribe travels to Eorzea to join the fight against Garlemald, learning of their new allies and bringing this knowledge home to the steppe. This is where we see him now, aiding his tribe, and Eorzea, in working for a better realm. With Fara by his side he stands ready to protect his new-found friends and make new memories in a land he does not yet know.

Appearance

  • Sun-baked red skin marks Masamune and his tribe as desert dwellers. Their color scheme in fashion usually inclundes gold, red, black, and/or blue, with gold being reserved for the Khan and his child. This appears to give them a look similiar to older Egyptian people.

Teki

The Teki spend much of their time in the desert, living near the rivers and relaxing after a long day of hunting and gathering. Their warriors are seen sparring for several hours after returning from their hunting trips. While their healers tend to wounds and sick, along with entertaining the children with fortune-telling. The children face a series of tests before being allowed to go through Bardam's mettle, celebrating their rite of passing at the turn of their fifteenth year. This usually results in both the physical and mental power to overcome many of the combat scenarios they have faced. They are bound by the honor of their word, choosing their words carefully and saying only what they think is necessary. This stoic warrior-like culture leads many to see them with an air of respect, allowing them to command respect wherever they roam, and very few of their enemies making the mistake of underestimating them. The Teki have traveled to the distant lands of Eorzea to help with the war efforts against Garlemald. After learning the empire is in no shape to wage war, they were sent home. Now members of the Teki may be found finding life in adventure throughout the realm, while a number of them remain in the desert sands near the steppe. Since his initial trip outside the steppe, the Teki have taken on members of other races, becoming one of the more diverse tribes of the steppe.

Tribe Relations

The Teki are a desert tribe who rarely make home within the steppe outside the desert. That said they interact with many tribes in the desert with a somewhat friendly demeanor. Their members often spar with those of the Dotharl. The Oronir and Buduga have been at odds with the Teki before, but have recently come to an uneasy peace with the tribe. If you would like to know or talk about how the Teki interact with your tribe you are free to ask.
